Abstract:

We retrospectively analysed the influence of familial history and age at diagnosis on upgrading and upstaging of 1001 patients who preoperatively met our selection criteria for Active Surveillance but underwent radical prostatectomy. 71.2% were upstaged to ≥ pT2b, of them 10.7% to ≥ pT3. 27.4% were upgraded to Gleason-Score ≥ 7. High PSA correlated with upgrading and upstaging, high Gleason-Score with upgrading. Age at diagnosis and familial history had no influence on upgrading or upstaging.
