Der zentralvenöse Druck (ZVD) gilt als Surrogatmarker der kardialen Vorlast. Bei kritisch Kranken gibt es Störeinflüsse wie den erhöhten intraabdominellen Druck (IAP) und die mechanische Beatmung. Central venous pressure (CVP) is considered to be a surrogate to determine cardiac preload. Confounders like intraabdominal pressure (IAP) and mechanical ventilation influence the CVP in critical ill patients. The aim of the study was to investigate the extent of these confounders on the CVP, studying 48 critical ill patients with hemodynamic monitoring (PiCCO, transpulmonary thermodilution (TPTD)). The results suggest that the CVP is independently associated with the IAP and the airway pressure. According to TPTD, CVP poorly reflects cardiac preload in this set of patients.      «
