Abstract:
Die Entwicklung von Qualitätsindikatoren der COPD-Therapie wurde bei Patienten eines Disease Management Programms für COPD in Bayern über sechs Jahre untersucht. Exazerbationsrate, Raucherstatus und leitliniengetreue Pharmakotherapie entwickelten sich positiv, während die Hospitalisierungsrate nicht abnahm. Zudem wurde der Effekt einer Theophyllintherapie auf Exazerbationen und Hospitalisierungen analysiert. Patienten mit Theophyllintherapie zeigten für beide Ereignisse ein erhöhtes Risiko.
Translated abstract:
Over a period of six years quality indicators of COPD therapy were analysed in patients enrolled in a disease management program in Bavaria, Germany. There was positive development in smoker status, exacerbation rate and adherence to guidelines in pharmacotherapy. Hospitalisation rate however did not decrease. Moreover, the effect of theophylline on exacerbations and hospitalisations was assessed. Patients with theophylline were found to have an increased risk of both events.
