- Innerhalb der Bundesrepublik zeigt sich momentan eine rasante Ausbreitung der stimulierenden Substanz Methamphetamin (MA) in Form der Szene-Droge „Crystal Meth“ (CM), deren Konsum mit schwerwiegenden Auswirkungen auf die Zahn,- Mund und Kieferregion assoziiert wird. In dieser erstmalig vergleichenden Grundlagenstudie wurden 100 CM-Konsumenten, sowie 100 Matched-Pair-Kontrollprobanden anamnestiziert und klinisch untersucht. - In Germany, the use of the methamphetamine (MA), a highly stimulant substance, is rapidly increasing as the scene drug “Crystal Meth” (CM), which has been associated with devastating effects on the oral and maxillofacial region. In this first comparative fundamental study, we assessed anamnesis data and performed a clinical investigation of 100 chronic CM users and 100 matched-pair controls. The results showed that chronic MA use lead to high potential damage within the stomatognathic system.
