Genetics of Pancreatitis: A Guide for Clinicians
Abstract:
It is now generally believed that pancreatitis results from pancreatic autodigestion. An inappropriate conversion of pancreatic zymogens to active enzymes within the pancreatic parenchyma is thought to initiate the inflammatory process.
