- Bis zu 50% der Patienten mit Harnblasenkarzinom entwickeln durch eine mögliche lymphogene Metastasierung eine systemische Tumorprogression. Zur Detektion disseminierter Tumorzellen wurden 790 Lymphknoten von 41 Patienten nach radikaler Zystektomie sowohl mit der MUC7 RT-PCR als auch histopathologisch untersucht. 85% der histopathologisch als Metastase klassifizierten und 54% der histopathologisch tumorfreien Lymphknoten zeigten unabhängig vom Primärtumorstadium eine positive MUC7 Genexpression.

- Up to 50% of all patients with carcinoma of the bladder develop a systemic tumour progression, potentially caused by disseminated tumour cells. 790 lymph nodes from 41 patients undergoing cystectomy where analyzed by specific MUC7 RT-PCR and also by Histopathology. 85% of all lymph nodes with histopathological confirmed tumour cells and 54% of all lymph nodes without histopathological confirmation of tumour cells showed a positive MUC7 gene expression, irrespected of the primary tumour state.
