Influence of the electrolyte on the particle size effect of the oxygen reduction reaction on Pt nanoparticles
Abstract:
In the present work it is shown that the obsd. particle size effect for the oxygen redn. reaction on Platinum is independent of the nature of the anions in soln., i.e. although detecting different abs. reaction rates the same order in activity as a function of the particle size is obsd. in sulfuric acid as in perchloric acid soln. This finding is discussed based on the well known effect of specific anion adsorption on the order of activity for low index Pt single crystals. [on SciFinder(R)]
