- In order to analyse how the abbey of Ettal represented itself through historic images until the 19th century, the content of images from over 380 years is standardized described and interpreted through the different elements of landscape and its perception, as well as the placement of the abbey in the images. For the forest historicly played an important role for the abbey, it is a special point of interest in the analysis of spatial perception and depiction.
