Time-use surveys (TUS) and national transport surveys (NTS) both provide valuable data for analysing people’s (im-) mobility but report the information from different perspectives. The literature shows e. g. higher shares of immobility and lower daily travel times in NTS. This paper analyses immobility in the German national time-use survey Destatis2002 and the German national transport survey ‘Mobility in Germany’ (MiD2002). Our findings are in line with the literature but differences in immobility rates and mobility indicators are not as high as in other international surveys of both types. Additionally, daily time-use is analysed with a focus on immobile respondents. Immobile respondents mainly spend more time on personal care and leisure compared to mobile respondents.     «
