In 2010 an inpatient palliative care hospital support team (HST) was established at the Klinikum rechts der Isar accompanied by a study to gain data on the acceptance and effectiveness of the HST as judged by patients, family caregivers and staff. Staff evaluated the HST to be very helpful for the psychosocial support of the patients and their caregivers, as well as symptom control. The patient data show that the HST contributes to better symptom control and quality of care (Palliative Care Outcome Scale).     «
