- Abstract:
- Ziel der Studie war die Evaluation des Nutzens einer kapnographischen Überwachung der Propofol- und Midazolamsedierung während ERCP. Im Vergleich mit einer Kontrollgruppe unter Standardüberwachung (RR, EKG, Pulsoxymetrie) ergaben sich bezüglich des primären Endpunktes der Rate an Hypoxämien (SaO2<90%) keine signifikanten Unterschiede. Ebenso verhielt es sich mit der Rate an Hypoxämien mit SaO2≤85%, Bradykardien, Hypotensionen, erhöhter Sauerstoffzufuhr und Untersucher-/Patientenzufriedenheit. Es zeigte sich eine signifikant höhere Detektion von Apnoen in der Interventionsgruppe.

- The aim of this study was to determine whether intervention based on additional capnographic monitoring reduces the incidence of hypoxemia (SaO2<90%) during midazolam and propofol sedation for ERCP. No significant differences in comparison with a standard monitoring arm (RR, ECG, pulse oximetry) were noted. Capnography did not produce any other benefits regarding the rates of severe/very severe hypoxemia, bradycardia, hypotension, increased oxygen supplementation, patients’ cooperation and satisfaction. There were significantly more detections of apneas in the intervention arm.
