Defined as segmental bony discontinuity in the mandible, mandibular bone defects implicate serious impairments for the affected patients such as distinctive malocclusion and an inability to chew, swallow and articulate. Currently mainly treated with autologous bone, this treatment requires a 2nd medical intervention and thus is often associated with serious donor site complications. In order to offer an effective treatment alternative for these cases, a synthetic osteoconductive polymer scaffold based on CT-data of patients was developed. Definiert als segmentale Kontinuitätsunterbrechung führen Unterkieferdefekte zu erheblichen Gesundheitsbeeinträchtigungen, wie einem ausgeprägten Fehlbiss sowie Kau- und Schluckbeschwerden. Derzeit hauptsächlich mit Eigenknochen behandelt, erfordert diese Rekonstruktionsmethode einen Zweiteingriff, bei dem es häufig zu Komplikationen an der Entnahmestelle kommen kann. Zur Schaffung einer neuartigen und effektiven Behandlungsalternative erfolgt in der vorliegenden Arbeit die Entwicklung eines synthetischen, osteokonduktiven Polymergerüsts, basierend auf CT Daten von Patienten. Durch die Verschmelzung von Keramiken und resorbierbaren Polymeren durch Mikrowellenbestrahlung konnte ein intraoperativ form- und bohrbarer Scaffold mit remodellierbaren Eigenschaften geschaffen werden.      «
