Die medizinhistorische Arbeit untersucht die Einführung der Nosoden und Sarkoden (aus Krankheitsprodukten bzw. Organpräparaten hergestellte Homöopathika) in den homöopathischen Arzneimittelschatz sowie deren weitere Entwicklung in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts. Anhand qualitativer und quantitativer Auswertungen von Originalquellen werden die Ansichten und Praktiken der einzelnen Hauptvertreter der Nosoden- und Sarkodentherapie ermittelt sowie die praktische Anwendung der Präparate durch die damalige Homöopathenschaft rekonstruiert. Durch eine Einordnung der Befunde in allgemeine Tendenzen der Arzneimittelentwicklung leistet die Arbeit somit einen Beitrag zur europäischen Medizingeschichte des 19. Jahrhunderts.     «

The medicine historical thesis focuses on the introduction of nosodes and sarcodes (homoeopathic remedies made of disease products respectively organ preparations) into homoeopathic materia medica and their further development in the first half of the 19th century. On the basis of qualitative and quantitative analyses of original sources, the practices and underlying therapeutical conceptions of the main representatives of nosode and sarcode therapy are reconstructed. Moreover, the practical application of these preparations by 19th century homoeopaths is described. By contextualising the findings with general tendencies of pharmaceutical drug development, the thesis contributes to the European history of medicine of the 19th century.     «
