Die vorliegende Arbeit vergleicht retrospektiv anhand eines Kollektivs von je 40 Gelenken die klinisch-radiologischen Ergebnisse eines ungekoppelten und eines achsgeführten Kniegelenkersatzes. Dabei zeigte sich, dass die ungekoppelten Knieprothesen sowohl in Bezug auf subjektive (VAS, Patientenzufriedenheit), als auch objektive (KSS, SF-36) Parameter signifikant besser abschneiden. Radiologisch zeigte sich kein signifikanter Unterschied. Insgesamt ist die Lebensqualität nach Implantation einer Knietotalprothese gleich welchen Typs im Vergleich zu einer gesunden Normalpopulation eingeschränkt. Insbesondere bei Implantation eines achsgekoppelten Kniegelenkersatzes ist deshalb die genaue Indikationsstellung und präoperative Aufklärung der Patienten zum Erreichen eines suffizienten Ergebnisses unerlässlich.     «

Our retrospective study compares the clinical and radiographic outcomes of two groups each, containing 40 knees that were either treated with unconstraint or hinged total knee arthroplasty (TKA). We were able to show that unconstraint TKA achieves significantly better subjective (VAS, patient satisfaction) and objective (KSS, SF-36) results. The radiographic evaluation showed no significant difference. In general there is a distinct loss of quality of life after TKA compared to a healthy population, no matter what type or model is used. Thus, especially with the use of hinged TKA strict indication and thorough informed consent is essential in achieving a sufficient result.      «
