Trotz inzwischen vielfältiger, erfolgreicher Einführungen in Unternehmensprozesse, schreitet die Verbreitung der RFID-Technik bisher nur langsam voran. Eine Ursache hierfür ist die Komplexität der Einführung der Technik, gepaart mit einem geringen Wissensstand über das Vorgehen zur RFID-Integration bei den anwendenden Unternehmen. Die vorliegende Forschungsarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Entwicklung einer Methodik, die die Durchführung von RFID-Projekten bei mittelständischen Unternehmen unterstützen soll. Die Methodik bietet nicht nur einen Ansatz zur Unterstützung der Planung von RFID-Vorhaben, auch der gezielte Transfer von Informationen über die RFID-Technik sowie die Eigenheiten von RFID-Projekten sind ein Schwerpunkt. Darüber hinaus werden Möglichkeiten zur Steuerung von RFID-Projekten entwickelt und in die Methodik integriert.     «

Although numerous successful RFID implementation projects can be identified, a shortfall between expectations and reality for RFID adoption in general can be observed. One reason is the complexity of RFID integration projects paired with a lack of knowledge about the technology itself and the way how to introduce it at companies. That is why this research work deals with the development of a methodology to support the execution of RFID implementation projects at small and medium enterprises. The methodology contains a framework for the planning of an individual project process, as well as detailed and focused information about RFID technology and the characteristics of RFID projects. In Addition, concepts for the steering and management of RFID projects are developed and integrated.     «
