When highly disparate time scales are involved in the response attributes of RF/microwave components and devices, their numerical solution is hindered by a significant increase in computational cost. It is shown in this paper that through an adaptation of the multi-time partial differential equation method to the numerical modeling of electromagnetic wave interactions, the aforementioned numerical complexity can be contained. The proposed method is demonstrated in the context of time-domain simulation of one-dimensional wave propagation in domains with time-varying properties and time-varying impedance boundary conditions.     «
